Ever since Barcroft TV did a documentary on Harnaam Kaur, a 23 year old female teacher’s assistant who has been growing a beard since she was 16, the story has been making the rounds on a number of web and social media sites.
Kaur has polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition which, among other side effects, can cause excessive hair growth.
As a result she has, for years, been fighting an up-hill battle with trying to keep her skin hair under control.
But besides having to deal with her condition, Kaur has also had to deal with bullying, stares and even death threats, leading her to resort to self-harming and suicidal thoughts.
Kauer says it was only after she became a Sikh that she finally accepted her condition for what it is and is learning to live with it. (Watch video below via Barcroft TV)
